Whatcha Say: Robin Thicke, Adam Lambert, and Fifth Harmony Got Our Readers Talking

ffc2e56b0e0164251ed575f1eacdf90d Whatcha Say: Robin Thicke, Adam Lambert, and Fifth Harmony Got Our Readers Talking

This week was prime for music video premieres from teen stars, as we were treated to new music videos from Demi Lovato, the Jonas Brothers, as well as the debut music video from X Factor finalists Fifth Harmony. And if that wasn’t enough pop overload for you, One Direction‘s latest single “Best Song Ever,” from their upcoming feature film, unexpectedly hit the web, to the delight of Directioners around the world.

Britney Spears fans better start saving up for that trip to Vegas! The pop star has reportedly signed a deal for a residency at the Planet Hollywood on the Sunset Strip. Plus, the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards are right around the corner and MTV announced the nominations this week, with Robin Thicke and Justin Timberlake leading the pack with six nominations each. Riding off the announcement of the VMA nominations, Justin Timberlake kicked off the Legends of Summer Tour with Jay Z in Toronto on Wednesday night. The tour launch is just one more Jay Z event this week, set a Spotify streaming record, officially dropped the hyphen from his name, and hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200.

Check out some of this week’s best comments below!

:: Adam Lambert announced he is parting ways with his record label, RCA, after disputes over “creative differences.” Maggie Magoo left her two cents on why the move is a good choice for the pop star on Adam Lambert Parts Ways With RCA, Says “My Heart Is Simply Not In Doing A Covers Album”: “RCA seems confused about their role. The artist creates. The label sells. RCA failed utterly by not even attempting to sell the critically acclaimed Trespassing, even after it debuted at #1 and was enthusiastically received by fans, polls and critics worldwide…Compounding their failure to sell, they lost one of the rare Great Ones. Just Dumb: “They coulda’ had it all”. Adam and his Glamberts moving on together to better places. None of us are afraid of the future. We can’t wait!”

:: Robin Thicke released another groovy disco-inspired track titled “Ain’t No Hat 4 That,” off his upcoming album Blurred LinesThe Danny Church Band made an interesting statement about the current retro-flavored music being released on Robin Thicke’s “Ain’t No Hat 4 That”: Hear The Song Co-Written By His Father Alan Thicke: “Yeah this is definitely a hot song but there indeed a very obvious pull towards the sounds of “Off The Wall” this summer. Was it Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky” that opened the floodgates? Anyway we are all the better for it!”

:: Azealia Banks and Paul Oakenfold collaborated for the unexpectedly hot club track “Venus.” jus10bee found themselves in a struggle between the rapper’s personality and musicality on Azealia Banks Goes Full House With Paul Oakenfold On “Venus (Ibiza Edition)”: Listen: “Her mouth is a blessing & a curse – I hate her drama but LOVE her music.”

:: Our exclusive chat with Mutya Keisha Siobhan had Eoin excited about the girl group’s upcoming tracks on Afternoon Tea With Mutya Keisha Siobhan: “Flatline” Video, Suga-Fails & Mechanical Bulls: “Siobhan saying fans of her solo work will love the Swimming Pools remake …. omg I cannot wait as I love her solo work. Ghosts is the best album ever”

:: Former Danity Kane and Diddy Dirty Money singer Dawn Richard dropped “Meteors,” the upcoming lead single to latest album and had drew going wild over the new sounds on Dawn Richard Returns With Electro-R&B Single “Meteors”: “Thanks Idolator for covering this – Dawn’s one of my favorite “Omg-I-can’t-believe-I-didn’t-find-her-myself” artists, and this new single is only making me more excited for Blackheart. It’s really going down now…”

:: An unreleased Selena Gomez track hit the web and had many fans, including SelGcrazy, wondering it didn’t make the final cut of Stars Dance  on Selena Gomez’s “Sad Serenade”: Hear The Leaked ‘Stars Dance’ Song: “Selena u really should have put this song on the album I LOVE IT!!! In fact i am guessing all the songs that u recorded or even wrote r A-MAZ-ING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love ya chou:)”

:: Fans were divided on the new Fifth Harmony track, “Me & My Girls,” released exclusively as a Radio Disney single. Tammy S defended the somewhat immature, yet enjoyable pop song on Fifth Harmony’s “Me And My Girls”: Hear The Group’s Seismic New Single: “I’m in my twenties and I love this song. So to everyone saying it’s childish or Kidz Boppy, there ain’t nothing wrong with a good ol cheesy pop song”

:: Our personal favorite comment of the week comes from YOUR FAVES COULD NEVER, an extremely enthusiastic Lovatic, who left this gem of a comment after watching Demi Lovato‘s latest music video on Demi Lovato’s “Made In The USA” Video: Watch The All-American Clip: “DEMI HATH GIVETH AND DEMI HATH SLAYETH.”
