Taylor Swift once again shows she has great taste in emerging British singers. After trotting out Sam Smith last week for a duet of his song “Money On My Mind,” Swift snagged Emeli Sande for her penultimate Red tour show on Monday (February 10). Swift and Sande performed “Next To Me,” the late-momentum hit off her 2012 debut album.
“Do you remember the BRIT Awards last year? I had a great time and I got to meet one of my favorite artists, and I watched her clean up,” Swift said to the crowd at O2 Arena. “Then I got this idea that what if she might come out and sing a song for you. London, what would you say if I told you that Emeli Sande is here?” The announcement was greeted by the inevitable wall of Swiftie screams.
Check out the performance (damn that Emeli can sing) and Taylor’s grateful tweet below.
