Since 1992, Native American Indians from the American Indian Group have been fighting for the Washington Redskins’ name to be changed because of how defamatory the name is to their culture.
This group is again asking the highest court in the Unitied States- The Supreme Court to cancel the teams trademark and logos.
The Native American Group has tried and failed in the past but this time they have attained new ground and may really put up a fight. The group wants SCOTUS to review the issue and show Washington why a team named after someones skin color is offensive.
The Redskins have been using the team name since 1933, this will be a big change if the Supreme Court rules in favor of the Native Americans.
What do you guys think? Is this a losing battle for the Native American Group or do they have a chance at over turning a $1.5 billion dollar franchise?
