Tiger Woods announced Friday that he will be taking an “indefinite break” from golf to try and repair the damage done from his sex scandal and long list of mistresses.  Read more on Tiger Woods’ decision to quit golf below.

In a statement posted on his official Web site, Tiger Woods finally admitted he did cheat on his wife Elin Nordegren.

“I am deeply aware of the disappointment and hurt that my infidelity has caused to so many people, most of all my wife and children,” he wrote.

“I want to say again to everyone that I am profoundly sorry and that I ask forgiveness. It may not be possible to repair the damage I’ve done, but I want to do my best to try.”

Tiger also asked for understanding from his fans, business partners and competitors.

Woods also said he is seeking “safe haven” for “personal healing”, and it’s being reported he and Elin are heading to Sweden.

Tiger’s announcement on his website has come after around a dozen women have claimed having sexual affairs with the married golfer.
