Tiger Woods and wife Elin Nordegren say they have no plans on talking with authorities about the car accident Friday. But police plan to pursue a search warrant. Read more on the Tiger Woods accident rumors below.
TMZ has reported that the Florida Highway Patrol will now obtain a search warrant to obtain medical records from the hospital that treated Tiger Woods, to determine if the injuries Woods sustained are truly from the car accident or from his wife, which would be domestic violence.
Authorities believe the wounds were actually from Tiger Woods’ wife as there was no blood found on the steering wheel of his vehicle.
Another big piece of evidence is that Elin Nordegren told FHP troopers that she went looking for her husband in a golf cart and then ran across the accident and used a golf club to gain entry into the vehicle. But this isn’t consistent with the story Elin told police after the accident. A golf cart was not mentioned. She told police she walked out of the house, saw the crash and went back to get a golf club.
There was no alcohol involved but Tiger was said to be in and out of consciousness. He is taking prescription medications for pain but this could also be evidence of a DUI.
Tiger Woods reportedly told a friend that his wife Elin had attacked him after she confronted him with the affair rumors. Tiger told his friend that Elin then followed him out of the house and hit his car with a golf club. He became distracted and crashed into the tree and hydrant.
Police have attempted to interview Woods, 33, on Friday but Elin said he was sleeping. Police tried again on Saturday and Sunday but were turned away.
In an e-mail Sunday, Wood’s IMG agent Mark Steinberg said: “We have been informed by the Florida Highway Patrol that further discussion with them is both voluntary and optional. Although Tiger realizes that there is a great deal of public curiosity, it has been conveyed to FHP that he simply has nothing more to add and wishes to protect the privacy of his family.”
If the Florida Highway Patrol finds out his injuries were actually from his wife Elin and not the car accident, she could be arrested for domestic violence.
