This Christmas, Lisa and Jess Origliasso of The Veronicas are giving the gift of song to all their fans, despite the fact that today is the twins’ 25th birthday. How selfless of these Aussie gals! In case you want to pick them up a b-day prezzie, you can always get them an Owl City onesie or a Weezer snuggie, two cuddly products for the music fan in your life. In the meantime, jump behind the cut to watch a video of the twosome sing the beautifully melodic acoustic track “Could’ve Been” from their upcoming third studio album.
Lisa and Jess – who look so alike now they can barely tell each other apart – wish a happy holidays to all their fans with this special holiday message, along with a preview of their upcoming album, which they’re in the process of writing now.
The Veronicas – “Could’ve Been”
Although we’re bigger fans of The Veronicas’ more pumped up, powerhouse pop songs like “Forever” and “Take Me On The Floor,” this simple ballad sounds promising, and the harmonies are enchanting. Plus, watching this video of Jess play guitar while the two of them belt it out with nary a backing track proves that not all pop stars out there depend on studio magic to create their performances for them. No wonder Jess and Lisa’s home country was so anti-lip synching.
