The 1975 have been releasing music under various names since the early ’00s but it seems their new moniker did the trick. The Englishmen broke internationally with their Sex EP last year and are now bringing their winning brand of synth-rock to the US. Today (July 26) the band unveiled a new version of their simple black-and-white “Sex” visual and it’s an eye-popping experience.

Joining the Robin Thicke-spearheaded trend towards music video porn, the clip follows a pair of self-destructive lovers as they party, take drugs and have lots of sex. Think Trainspotting — The Next Generation. Watch this one in the privacy of your own home.

Does this clip take things too far? Why is the band playing in a room with people having sex? Answer these questions in the comments below.
