Say what you will about Taylor Swift, but the songwriter knows her way around a killer tune — and now, the country-pop chanteuse (who pens all her own material) has been awarded the Songwriter/Artist of the Year award by the Nashville Songwriters Association International for the sixth time; she beat out Vince Gill and Alan Jackson, both of whom have won five times.
The award acknowledges Nashville artists who have notched Top 30 singles, of which Swift released 14 (!!) in the calendar year spanning from July 2012 through June 2013; all six of her awards will be displayed at the Taylor Swift Education Center, a $4 million space at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville, which Swift funded herself, because that’s just how she rolls.
Swift is also the youngest artist to receive this award. In related news, she remains untouchable.
