Hat-wearing MC T-Pain has become somewhat notorious for his liberal use of AutoTune, which is why his new song “Dope”—which, he says during the introduction, is a taste of his forthcoming album—is surprising: There isn’t a blippy vocal to be found on the track. Instead, what you have is a lot of T-Pain very strenuously rhyming over a bumblebee-swarm beat, with the topic being how he’s rich and can afford to wear the BIG ASS CHAIN seen at left and blah blah blah blah blah. I dunno, I maybe would have rather heard the AutoTune than the bragging about his net worth, you know? There’s a reason I don’t watch those dumb Fabulous Life shows, either. Clip after the jump.
