The late Farrah Fawcett and Ryan O’Neal’s son, Redmond O’Neal will be leaving his prison cell and entering drug rehab for a year after pleading no contest to  a drug possession charge. Read more on Redmond O’Neal below.

Redmond O’Neal has been undergoing intensive drug treatment while in prison following his April (09) arrest, when he attempted to bring  illegal substances into another Los Angeles correctional facility while visiting a friend in jail.

But O’Neal, who was already serving time for another drug count, has been given one final chance to kick his drug habit. Let’s hope he can do it this time.

Redmond appeared in a court in Santa Clarita, California on Friday (18Sep09) and pleaded no contest to the smuggling charge.
He was sentenced to a minimum of one year in the Impact Drug and Alcohol Treatment Center in Pasadena, California and put on three years of formal probation by Superior Court Judge Graciela Freixes.

O’Neal could face up to six years if he slips back into his old routine.
