Never underestimate the power of a boy band. Like record-smashing The Beatles before them, One Direction‘s meteoric rise continues with the news that their forthcoming single, “Live While We’re Young,” became the fastest-selling single in pre-order history. While Sony Music doesn’t release  the actual figures for pre-sales, we do know that the song is already #1 in 40 countries (including the UK and the US) — which makes sense, as it was penned by Savan Kotecha, Rami Yacoub, and Carl Falk, the team behind “What Makes You Beautiful.” Not bad, for a song that’s not even out until October 1!
