Over the past year we’ve heard Nile Rodgers bust some funky guitar licks on new music released by Daft Punk, Avicii, Chase & Status, Tensnake and, collectively, Disclosure, Sam Smith and Jimmy Napes. Now we’ve finally got a new offering from the music legend featuring himself and, well, nobody else. (Guess we’ll still have to keep waiting for that epic track Rodgers’ promised would feature “almost everybody that’s ever sung with” him.)
As Rolling Stone explained upon premiering the song earlier this month, “Do What You Wanna Do” was recorded by Nile and auctioned off (to the label Cr2 Records) to benefit the musician’s We Are Family Foundation. Now there’s a lyric video to go along with the irresistible disco party jam.
