You may remember Mika as the voice behind falsetto-driven gumdrop pop tune “Grace Kelly”, a single off his brilliantly colorful 2007 debut album Life In Cartoon Motion. The UK singer has been experimenting with his sound the past few years, and his new song “Make You Happy” shows the Beirut-born artist utilizing electronic synths and robotic vocals like never before.

“Here’s the first song I wanted you to hear from my new record, The Origin of Love,” writes Mika on the clip’s Vimeo page. “This is not a single but a song I really love and wanted to share with you.”

“I commissioned a short film which I felt perfectly captured the sentiment of the track. The film was directed by Iouri Philippe Paillé and was made in Montreal. This is where the entire album started taking shape a year ago with Nick Littlemore at Planet Studios in Papineau.”

For his third studio album, Mika has taken few cues from Madonna, and tapped Martin Solveig and William Orbit has producers. (Interesting, since Mika was rumored to have worked with Madge during her MDNA studio sessions.) Pharrell, Ellie Gouldingand Benny Benassi have also been reported as collaborators.

Besides “Make You Happy”, the LP, the pop star’s first since 2009′s The Boy Who Knew Too Much, will include a number of songs sung in French (like the already-released “Elle Me Dit”).

Watch Mika’s latest visuals above, and let us know if you’re as excited as we are to hear the rest of The Origin Of Love.
