Cameron Douglas pleaded guilty this morning to conspiracy to distribute drugs as well as heroin possession as part of a plea deal, which will still carry a minimum of 10 years in prison. Read more on Cameron Douglas’ charges below.
Cameron Douglas, 31, admitted to selling meth and cocaine in large quantities before his three-year investigation by the Drug Enforcement Agency.
“I began supplying on a regular basis,” Cameron Douglas said in court today.
Douglas pleaded guilty to the conspiracy charge and also admitted to possessing heroin. The possession of heroin charge came after his girlfriend was caught trying to smuggle heroin to him in an electric toothbrush.
His actor father, Michael Douglas, has spoken about his son’s arrest. “It’s been very painful,” he said, and admitted he wasn’t rock solid as a father for Cameron as he grew up?
“I’ll assume whatever responsibilities I have to. Would it have been better to have been around more? Absolutely. There were absences, and I was no angel.
“Cameron has a lot of his life ahead,” he says. “He now recognizes his own demons and struggles.”
Cameron Douglas will be formally sentenced on April 27.
