Wow! That didn’t last long! Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and Colin Egglesfield are already moving out of “Melrose Place”. Read more on why the actors were pink-slipped below.
Ashlee and Colin’s characters will make their final appearance on “Melrose Place” in January, the network confirmed Thursday.
Heather Locklear, who played “bitchy” Amanda in the 1990s “Melrose Place,” will be joining this edition starting with the Nov. 17 episode.
Simpson-Wentz’s character Violet and Egglesfield’s Auggie have been part of the murder mystery involving Sydney (Laura Leighton), whose death kicked off the show this season, and who’s been seen in flashbacks.
Executive Producer Todd Slavkinoth confirmed that both of the actors would be leaving the CW series but said the decision was part of “the original plan going into the development of the show.”
Slavkinoth said they took the news “like professionals,” saying: “When you go into a show you never know what’s going to evolve and what the possibilities are. But because they knew ahead of time [that leaving was a possibility], it wasn’t a complete shock.”
