Barbie’s “Ladies Of The ’80s” series has dolls modeled after Joan Jett and Debbie Harry, but if I were to spend $55.79 (whoa) on a Barbie product, it would have to be on the doll modeled after Cyndi Lauper, because she’s been allowed to keep the one-side-shaved look that fascinated/scared me back when the video for “Girls Just Want To Have Fun” first crossed my televisual transom. Oh, the Barbies that were ruined as a result! Oh, the realization that plastic hair doesn’t grow back!


(Although whoever wrote the promotional copy, which starts off “‘She Bop,’ no?” clearly doesn’t know what that particular song was about.)
