Nicki Minaj told Billboard last year that “Roman’s Revenge” is a song in which she comes “a different human being”, a wholly original persona (Roman Zolanski) who can do and say what Nicki can’t or won’t, timid wallflower that she is. So it’s only fitting that we finally have a remix of song with a rapper who claims he’s not a human being at all — her Young Money patron Lil Wayne. Weezy jumps on the Swizz Beatz-produced track in place of Eminem, offering a wild-eyed verse that argues (what else?) that he’s still on top. We don’t mind hearing Wayne riff on his large, um, appetite, but for our money (young or otherwise), we prefer the Eminem version. (In fact, we might even prefer that much-maligned Weezy/Nicki collaboration “Knockout” to this remix). And would it have killed Nicki — er, Roman — to add a new verse or two?
