Lil Wayne may be blazing away on huge bales of weed in the privacy of his own home, but—as the third leak from his upcoming Rebirth makes clear—dude gets ANGRY when attempting to make rock music. “Drop the World,” featuring anger-management counselor Marshall Mathers, starts off with a head-fake: a hypnotic but fun clubby beat kicks off the track before Wayne’s grizzly snarl comes in to end any chance of booty-shaking. “I got ice in my veins, blood in my eyes, hate in my heart, love in my mind,” he begins. Party jam of ‘09, right?. Compared to the cool distemper he displays on tracks like “Hit ‘Em Up,” he sounds like a man truly pushed past his limit. Is this the radio hit Wayne’s been looking for? Check out the happy-go-lucky track after the jump:
Forever,” and Em pretty much stole the show that time, too.
Wayne’s reportedly off to year-long stint in jail just a few days after his newly newly announced album release date, February 1, and we’re guessing he’ll figure out some way to promote his album while behind bars—one-one-one performances in the conjugal visit trailer, perhaps?
