Sam Carr, 83, died on Monday of congestive heart failure, according to reports.

Sam Carr backed blues greats like Sonny Boy Williamson and Buddy Guy. Sam Carr was coosidered by many to be one of the best blues drummers in America.

Carr began his career performing with his father Robert Nighthawk.
