Siegfried Fischbacher announced their decision to retire from doing their stage show in a German magazine on Tuesday. Siegfried was quoted as stating, “Roy and I miss our audience. But there will not be a comeback.”
Siegfried’s partner Roy Horn, who was mauled by a white tiger during their 2003 performance at The Mirage in Las Vegas, is still battling the long-term effects of the tiger attack.
“It is a miracle that he can stand on his own feet again and enjoy life,” Siegfried said of Roy who was left partially paralyzed.
But the performers say they are finally getting used to their new life as retirees.
“We like it,” Siegfried said.
