The dust has now settled on the quiet chart battle between Lana Del Rey, Sam Smith and Linkin Park, with Del Rey’s third LP Ultraviolence emerging the victor. The doom-pop diva’s latest sold 182,0000 copies out of the gate — more than the first week sales of previous album Born To Die (77,000) and EP Paradise (67,000) combined. The album becomes Lana’s first chart-topper on the Billboard 200.

Going in at #2 is Sam Smith’s first album In The Lonely Hour. With 162,0000 copies sold, Smith now has the distinction of having the best first week sales for a male UK artist with their debut album ever. (Take that, George Michael, Rick Astley, Robbie Williams, etc. etc.) Linkin Park follow behind at #3 with their sixth album The Hunting Party (110,000).

Total non-threats to the top of the chart this week are Jennifer Lopez‘s comeback effort A.K.A. (#8, 33,000) and Deadmau5‘s latest batch of beats while(1<2) (#9, 30,000). See how the rest of the Top 10 played out this week below.
