Hey, Rowland Stones! (Did you know that’s what Kelly Rowland calls her fans? Isn’t that the most amazing thing in the entire world? Forget all those obvious fanbase monikers like “Little Monsters” and “Lovatics” — 2013 is all about the Rowland Stones.) There’s good news and bad news: The good news is that K-Row is headed to the judges’ panel on The X Factor, where she’ll be providing “Kisses Down Low” glamour on a whole new platform; the bad news is that her new judging gig will force the songbird to cancel her upcoming tour with The-Dream.
While five shows will still proceed as planned, a number of stops have been rescheduled: Kansas City, Missouri; Boston, Massachusetts; Jackson, Mississippi; Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Cleveland, Ohio; and Cincinnati, Ohio. If you live in one of those cities, Kelly Rowland does not love you as much as she loves the rest of her Rowland Stones.
“Although the tour had to be rescheduled because of X Factor, I’m looking forward to bringing you guys a bigger and better show,” Rowland said in a statement to her fans. (Her fans, the Rowland Stones.) In a statement of his own, Dream said that he still plans to try to make some solo appearances in promotion of his album IV Play. Ah, well. You can’t have your cake and eat it too. Especially when your cake is made of “Kelly Rowland on tour” and “Kelly Rowland on TV.” Especially when you’re a Rowland Stone. Nobody said this life would be easy.
