Katy Perry and Russell Brand are officially engaged!  Read more below on how Russell proposed on the couple’s romantic trip to India.

The adorable couple, who have only dated four months, became engaged just days ago while vacationing in Jaipur, India.  A friend of the couple says that Russell, 34, proposed and Katy, 25, accepted.

On her Twitter Dec. 29, Katy shared a cute pic of her and Russell in front of India’s famed Taj Mahal. “He built this for me,” she wrote beneath the photo.

The trip to India “was his Christmas gift. She told him how much she loved Indian culture while they were eating curry in England, so he surprised her.”

A friend of Katy’s says that Perry has “never connected with anybody like this.” And Russell Brand, the “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” star is “super into her”. “She says he makes her laugh like nobody else in the world,” an insider revealed.

Congrats to the cute couple on their engagement!
