Katy Perry reveals she discovered Russell Brand was going to propose to her through Google alerts! Read more of what Katy had to say below.
Katy Perry, who became engaged to Russell Brand over the holidays, says she found out Russell planned to propose after seeing the news on Google alerts.
Katy, 25, said: “Unfortunately, I still Google myself sometimes, I saw it on Google alerts. I’m going to be honest!”
Russell admitted: “I was buying rings.”
Although Katy accidentally discovered Russell’s plans, Katy was still shocked when the comedian proposed on their trip to India.
The British comedian, 34, offered a good excuse for all the web reports. “I was buying rings!” he told Ryan Seacrest on the red carpet.
Russell had a very interesting proposal planned for Katy in India.
Russell, 34, explained: “There was an elephant involved. We were on an elephant just before it.
“We were in India, It was at midnight, and it is not a good idea to be on the back of an elephant during a fireworks display.”
Katy added: “They can’t tell the difference between an apocalypse and New Year’s Eve.”
The couple attended the pre-Grammy Awards party in Los Angeles last night and Russell Brand was his normal crazy self.
A former coke addict, Russell said: “Grammys. I know why it’s called that. That’s how much coke you need to cope with it.”
Katy shushed her fiance’s joking saying, “Stop it and behave! I don’t want to upset the Grammys, I want one.”
