JoJo Signs To Atlantic Records: Finally Free To Release That Third Album

After seven long years of limbo, JoJo finally said leave (get out) to Blackground Music, her longtime label home and, in recent years, her nemesis in a bitter legal dispute. It was revealed today (January 14) that the 23-year-old signed a deal with Atlantic Records in December and will finally get around to releasing her much-anticipated third album in 2014.

This is incredibly good news. JoJo has one of the finest voices in popular music — a fact she continued to underline with excellent mixtapes and 2011′s “Disaster” — and it’s a crime that we’ve been deprived of a new album since 2006′s The High Road. There’s no word yet as to when we can expect new music but the sooner, the better as far as her long-suffering fans are concerned.

Though Jojo has yet to comment on the apparent resolution of her long-running legal drama, she did re-tweet several supportive messages from famous fans, including B. Scott and singer Bridget Kelly.

Are you excited that JoJo has won her freedom? Congratulate the big-lunged diva in the comments.
