John Edwards’ wife Elizabeth is separating from him after 30 years of marriage, just a week after he revealed he was the father of Rielle Hunter’s daughter, Frances Quinn. Read more on this story below.

John and Elizabeth Edwards are legally separating after 30 years of marriage, a week after Edwards admitted to being the true father of Frances Quinn Hunter.

John Edwards has spoken out about their split.  “It is an extraordinarily sad moment, but I love my children more than anything and still care deeply about Elizabeth,” Edwards stated.

Nancy Anania,Elizabeth Edwards’ sister told the AP, “She’s doing as well as you could expect,” adding, “I’m really proud of her that, somehow, she’s got strength that you rarely see in a person.”

Elizabeth Edwards is currently battling terminal breast cancer.
