Okay, at this point we’ve just gotta assume that Adam Lambert is secretly in cahoots with ABC to drum up headline-grabbing, album-sales-generating controversy on a weekly basis.
Glambo tweeted that his scheduled appearances on the Alphabet net’s Jimmy Kimmel Live and Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve have now been axed:
“Yes, sadly friends, ABC has cancelled my appearances on Kimmel and NYE.
don’t blame them. It’s the FCC heat.”
The latest diss comes after Lambert was told not to show up on ABC’s Good Morning America last week following the much-debated American Music Awards performance where he (gasp!) kissed a dude and got a bit of face-in-crotch action on stage. (And, you know, we’ve never seen that before during an awards show telecast.)
As for the “FCC heat” Adam alludes to, maybe he ought to read the Los Angeles Times more often, which points out that the FCC apparently doesn’t monitor programming after 10 p.m. (Lambert’s AMA performance aired at 10:55 p.m.)
Adam should take it all in stride, though. He’ll still manage to infiltrate ABC next Wednesday on Barbara Walters Presents The 10 Most Fascinating People Of 2009 (unless, of course, his segment gets cut).
Plus, his For Your Entertainment managed to outsell Lady Gaga’s The Fame Monster and Rihanna’s Rated-R the first week out of the gate—not to mention move over double the amount of copies Kris Allen’s debut album did in its opening seven days.
Perhaps Adam should be a bit more strategic with his lip-locking partners during his next performance, though, because sales could always be better.
