Giorgio Moroder has remixed HAIM‘s early breakthrough “Forever,” and the unlikely pairing demonstrates just how versatile and undefinable the California band’s sound is (BTW, Moroder defines it as “timeless”). For his reinterpretation, the disco and synth wizard added a synthetic four-on-the-floor beat and his own vocodered verses to alternate with Danielle Haim’s. You’ll also hear the requisite synth splashes and chorus buildups.
Basically, it gives us a peek into a bizarro world in which Daft Punk enlisted HAIM for “Get Lucky,” with Danielle’s husky voice and punchy guitar replacing Pharrell‘s airy croon and the pristine plucking of Nile Rodgers. Turns out that’s a world we’d want to visit! Hear it over at Soundcloud.
