And now it’s official. Gwen Stefani confirmed that she’s joining The Voice in an Instagram post this afternoon (April 29). The No Doubt frontwoman will take over from Christina Aguilera during her pregnancy — with the Lotus diva’s full blessing. Xtina already welcomed her via Twitter earlier today.
While it will be great to have Gwen on the show (she definitely has the right credentials), it will be even more interesting to see if the 44-year-old uses the platform to launch a comeback. At this point in time, judging or mentoring a talent show almost always leads to new music. Just look at Jennifer Lopez, Shakira, Kylie Minogue and Mariah Carey.
