Eight years have passed since Fergie took a breather from The Black Eyed Peas in late 2006 to release her debut solo LP The Dutchess and shocked everyone by racking up five top 5 hits (including three chart-toppers). The album went on to sell six million+ copies worldwide.
Instead of capitalizing on her success, the “Glamorous” singer returned to the BEP fold and recorded another two albums with the band until they went on hiatus. However, the Fergie faithful finally have reason to celebrate. In an interview with Ryan Seacrest (above), the new mom revealed that she’s been in her “creative cave” cooking up new material.
The 38-year-old admitted to studying the current music scene as well as revisiting the classics to ensure she comes back with a winning sound. The record, to be released by Interscope, will precede a new Black Eyed Peas LP and most likely feature production from Will.i.am.
