To prep for his hosting and performing gig on Saturday Night Live this weekend, Drake on Thursday (January 16) appeared on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and warmed up those comedy muscles. And, actually, got some pointers for how best to use them. Drake and Fallon’s opening discussion was a comedy nerd’s dream, as they talked about the process of putting an SNL episode together, and Drake revealed that Lorne Michaels made him shave his trademark George Michael scruff.
“Yesterday I did the read-through and it was like probably one of the best days of my life, it was incredible,” the star added, before asking the SNL alum for some pointers. Drizzy also revealed his favorite sketch of all time was when Jay Z joined Will Ferrell‘s Robert Goulet character.
They also talked about his first-ever audition (which happened to be for Degrassi), and why he stays sober for his own concerts. Check out the very entertaining interview up top, which also includes Drake losing to Fallon in a rousing game of beer hockey.
