Drake Says ‘Rolling Stone’ Misquoted Him Shading ‘Yeezus’ Lyrics: “I’m Done” Talking To Magazines

Drake was profiled in the latest issue of Rolling Stone, and used the platform to take a shit all over Macklemore. But the story (which isn’t online yet) also quotes him poking fun at some of Kanye West‘s Yeezus lyrics (he wouldn’t be the first). “There were some real questionable bars on there. Like that, ‘Swaghilli,’ line? Come on man,” he supposedly told the mag. “Even Fabolous wouldn’t say some shit like that.”

Perhaps panicking at the prospect of more G.O.O.D.-OVO tension, Drizzy took to Twitter this morning (February 13) to dispute the quote. “I never commented on Yeezus for my interview portion of Rolling Stone,” he clarified. “They also took my cover from me last minute and ran the issue.” The cover for the issue ended up being the late Philip Seymour Hoffman. Ugh, whining that your precious magazine cover was swapped out in favor of a tribute to a recently deceased actor? Not a good look. Probably realizing that, Drake launched another tweet for damage control, but sounded equally callous: “I’m disgusted with that. RIP to Phillip Seymour Hoffman. All respect due. But the press is evil.”

Then he signed off by retiring from the print game. “I’m done doing interviews for magazines. I just want to give my music to the people. That’s the only way my message gets across accurately.”
