“Rolling in the Deep” has rapidly become the go-to cover song of choice for artists in every genre. Now album teaser David Cook has joined the deep-rolling ranks of John Legend and Mike Posner with his own version of the 21 track, performed yesterday at MIX 94.1’s Pet-A-Palooza in Las Vegas. The cover was part of an 8-song set the Idol winner played in support of pet adoption — though we suspect after hearing the send-off singer’s soulful rendition of Adele’s haunting hit, the audience was more interested in taking him home for keeps. Check out the set below, including “Paper Heart” and The Cars’ “Drive” (no sign of new single “The Last Goodbye” yet, though).
