Pour out a glass of lemonade for Danity Kane: The girl group is irreparably damaged.
Although their long-awaited comeback, formally announced over a year ago, was fraught with setbacks from the beginning (including the departure of Aundrea Fimbres on their #NoFilter Tour), it was (reportedly) a physical dispute between Dawn Richard and Aubrey O’ Day that ultimately caused their demise.
From a newly released statement by band member Aubrey confirming the reasoning behind the group’s split: “During a recent group meeting, a business conversation took a turn for the worst when my group member punched me in the back of my head while I was speaking to another associate…disagreements happen. But a war of words and ideas should never end in physical aggression.”
Shannon Bex confirmed the incident in her own part of the joint statement, and apologized profusely for the group’s disbandment.
There are many people besides myself that this impacts. Bottom line, it is not fair! I am not asking that you validate it being so. I am writing because you — the fans and our loved ones — deserve an honest and transparent explanation. My desire is to genuinely apologize to everyone who has poured their time, heart and energy into us. So many lives have been affected by this chain of events.
It’s truly a sad day for Danity Kane fans ’round the world (like us!), many of whom have followed along with these ladies since their inception during Making The Band. With plenty of promising bangers teased live during their promo performances like “All In A Day’s Work” and “Rhythm Of Love,” their comeback album was shaping up to be something massive. First aid kit handy, anyone?
