But it was a huge act, and Dalia had unknowingly hired an undercover officer as a hit man to kill her husband. Watch the video of Dalia Dippolito below!
Dalia Dippolito and Michael Dippolito had only been married six months when she tried to hire a hit on her husband. But little did she know… the hitman was actually an undercover officer.
Boynton Beach Police called Dippolito at her local gym to inform her that her husband had been murdered.
But the crime scene and reports of a dead husband were all an elaborate set-up by Florida police. Dalia Dippolito used her best acting skills to show her sadness over the news of her husband’s death.
Police say a confidential informant had reported Dalia was trying to hire a hit on her husband, Michael Dippolito.
On July 31, police sent an undercover police officer to meet with Dalia, 26, and secretly recorded her as she negotiated with what she believed to be the hit man. Dippolito gave the undercover officer a picture of her husband, his daily schedule and $1200 to purchase a gun to use in the murder.
On Monday, Dippolito met with the “hit man” and agreed to pay him $3,000 for the murder of her husband.
On Wednesday morning, Michael Dippolito received a surprise visit by Boynton Beach Police, when they arrived to inform him that he needed to come with them, and that his wife had hired a hit man to murder him.
Michael Dippolito left with the police as they set up the fake crime scene at his home. Police then called Dalia and told her she needed to come home right away. Dalia was told her husband had been killed, and she gave the Ocar-worthy performance.
Dalia Dippolito was arrested for solicitation of murder and his being held in Palm Beach County jail. She will be arraigned today.
