Disney starlet Coco Jones is just the latest Hollywood Records songstress to launch out with a career as a recording artist (following in the illustrious footsteps of songbirds like Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez) — and the siren’s latest effort is a take on Lorde‘s current chart-topper “Royals.” In Jones’ hands, the song assumes a more soulful vibe, with a chorus that soars.
“I think ‘Royals’ is a heartfelt song with relatable lyrics,” Jones said. “I chose to cover this song in support of Lorde… We’re both young, but working hard and chasing our dreams.”
Better hope that Jones identifies as a feminist, or her support of Lorde may not be reciprocated.
