Chris Brown, an objectively bad person, got off scot-free yet again in Los Angeles today: A judge dismissed the hit-and-run charge against him after he and the other motorist involved in the incident resolved to just drop the whole thing altogether. (He might still face jail time for violating his probation, because he doesn’t need to be convicted of a crime for that to happen.)
Reportedly, Brown struck a compromise with the victim, who didn’t want any money because the damage was minor and she ultimately just wanted to see the case dismissed; the City Attorney wasn’t thrilled about that, since Brown allegedly acted aggressively toward the victim and called her a “bitch.” (What a surprise! That doesn’t sound like him at all.)
Brown’s lawyer said, ”The case never should have been filed in the first place. It’s unfortunate he was being prosecuted for who he is rather than what he’s done.” Indeed, and yet, “who he is” is a horrible monster garbage person. So, whatever. Life is unfair.
