Celine Dion was candid and charming when she talked about her family, Las Vegas residencies and new album Loved Me Back To Life at Jimmy Kimmel Live on September 6. Throughout, host Kimmel delighted in finding out what does and doesn’t faze the pop superstar.
Fist fights at her shows? Yes. (“I don’t know what went wrong, but I just hope it wasn’t my singing,” she said.) Eating dessert from the flip side of her dinner plate? No — and as the youngest of 14 siblings, she gets why her mother encouraged this. (“When you have to do the dishes, you’ll flip your plate.”) Dion also mentioned that she keeps a framed canvas for her children backstage at her shows, so that celebrity spectators could sign it.
Barbra Streisand signed it and Michael Jackson signed it, but Prince did not.
Dion’s timing was off. “I have no name right now. I’m a sign,” the artist then formerly known as Prince said.
It’s okay, Celine — Prince intimidates everyone he meets. Watch her Jimmy Kimmel Live chat up top.
