Pro wrestler Captain Lou Albano died Wednesday at age 76. Read more on Lou Albano’s death below.

Captain Lou Albano began wrestling back in the fifties in Canada. He then worked as a manager for many years and is actually credited with the creation of the first “Wrestlemania” in 1985.

Many of us remember Captain Lou Albano as the father of Cyndi Lauper in her music video  “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun.”

Albano was reportedly in hospice care at the time of his death.

Albano “was often imitated but never duplicated, and he certainly will never be forgotten either,” said World Wrestling Entertainment in a press release.
