The tragic news of Brittany Murphy’s death has shocked many fans and fellow celebrities. The latest update states that Brittany Murphy, 32, was found unconscious in the shower by her mother this morning. Read more on this story below.

Actress Brittany Murphy died today of a heart attack after being found in the shower unconscious by her own mother.

Her husband Simon Monjack called 911 and when paramedics arrived, they found Brittany to be in full cardiac arrest and immediately administered CPR.

Paramedics continued CPR on the way to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, but Murphy was still unresponsive.

Brittany, 32, was pronounced dead at the hospital around 10 a.m.

“In this time of sadness, the family thanks you for your love and support,” said Murphy’s rep. “It is their wish that you respect their privacy.”

Brittany’s ex-boyfriend, actor Ashton Kutcher, posted about her death on Twitter.

“2day the world lost a little piece of sunshine,” he wrote. “My deepest condolences go out 2 Brittany’s family, her husband, and her amazing mother Sharon.

“See you on the other side kid. (sic)”

Khloe Kardashian also offered her condolences, tweeting, “This is horrible news when anyone passes. I’m so sorry for her family. Send prayers out please! (sic)”
