Brittany Murphy’s mother and Brittany’s husband Simon Monjack appeared on the “Today” show to talk about her sudden death. Read more and see the video below.

Sharon Murphy and Simon Monjack spoke with Matt Lauer on the “Today” show about Brittany’s death and the speculation and rumors that have gone around.

“Brittany was not taking any medication for her mood, for anorexia, or any mental illness,” Monjack said.  “It’s utterly ridiculous that these rumors have perpetuated.”

Monjack also wanted to clear up rumors of any cocaine abuse stating that it would be a “physical impossibility” given her heart condition (mitral valve prolapse).

When asked about his late wife’s frail frame, he revealed his wife would “order four plates of food and eat them all” at Chateau Marmont.

Simon Monjack did say that Brittany Murphy was heartbroken over disappointments in her career. Just a week before her death she had been dropped from voicing the role of Gloria in “Happy Feet 2″ after rumors about possible erratic behavior.

Hollywood has “blood on their hands,” Monjack stated.
