The Irish singer of Boyzone, Stephen Gately, reportedly died at age 33 in Majorca, Spain. Read more on Stephen Gately’s death below.
Details on Gately’s death are very sketchy but one source told the News of The World, “It looks like he went out for a few drinks, then got back, fell asleep and never woke up.”
Boyzone manager Louis Walsh stated, “We’re all absolutely devastated. I’m in complete shock. I was only with him on Monday at an awards ceremony. We don’t know much about what’s happened yet… He was a great man.”
In 2008 Stephen Gately, Ronan Keating and the other members of Boyzone reunited.
Gately was in the papers ten years ago when he “came out’ as a gay man. In March, 2006 he wed his partner Andrew Cowles in a civil union. Cowles and Gately were reportedly introduced by Elton John.
In addition to being in the band Boyzone, Gately also starred in London’s Joseph & The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
