The Bengal’s wide receiver Chris Henry has been very seriously injured and on life support after falling from the back of a truck being driven by his fiance, with whom he had been arguing. Read more on Chris Henry’s condition below.
Chris Henry hasn’t played football after being injured and going on reserve early last month, but was in Charlotte to talk with his fiance about their wedding plans.
This afternoon Chris Henry and his fiance began arguing and as the fiance drove away in the pickup truck, Chris Henry jumped into the back. The couple continued to argue and about a half-mile from home he fell from the back of the truck.
Chris Henry was found in the road in Charlotte “apparently suffering life-threatening injuries,” according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg police. Henry was transported to Carolinas Medical Center. Some media reports state that Chris Henry is dead, but these are unconfirmed.
Team spokesman Jack Brennan said he had little information other than Henry was badly hurt.
“We are aware he was in an accident and that his injuries are very serious,” Brennan said. “We are obviously staying in touch with the situation and are ready to offer whatever assistance we can.”
Henry is on life support after the fall from the truck and his condition is listed as “dire”.
