Aubrey O’Day Drops ‘Between Two Evils’ EP

71015526a9235d5614429bc9f197f28f Aubrey O’Day Drops ‘Between Two Evils’ EP

Look: If you thought I was going to let Aubrey O’Day release new music without commenting, you were sorely mistaken. The Danity Kane vixen has been in the studio with her Making The Band cohorts on a reunion project, but while fans await new tunes from the girls together, she’s also dropped a solo EP, Between Two Evils. And despite the cover artwork, which is aggressively, offensively basic (sorry, Aubs), the tunes inside are pretty damn good: Sharp, polished dance-pop that delivers on her diva potential.

There’s the stomping beat of the excellent “Let Me Lay,” and the big pop melodies of “Before I Drown” are finely crafted, but “Love Me When You Leave” is just the best, as huge a dancefloor filler as anything out of David Guetta‘s back catalogue. Considering it was released independently, it sounds impressively sure-footed — and indeed, it’s paying off, since the EP is already #1 on the iTunes Dance Charts (due in no small part to Aubrey’s endless promotion on Twitter). Pick it up on iTunes now.
