The “Today” show had a disturbing segment on Anita Tedaldi, “a woman who adopted a child and then gave him up 18 months later.” Teldaldi, the mother to five biological daughters, adopted a baby boy and returned him after he didn’t click with her. Read more and see the video of this story below.
What woman could adopt a child and then return the child 18 months later? That would be a very difficult and agonizing decision.
Anita Teldaldi and her husband have five biological children and decided that they would like more. The couple went through the adoption approval process, and Teldaldi was able to adopt a baby boy who was found by the side of a road.
Teldaldi felt she would “be able to parent this little boy the same way I had done with my biological daughters,” but later terminated the adoption after 18 months.
And why did Anita decide to return the adopted child? She said she just didn’t bond with him.
Matt Lauer asked Anita exactly what that meant and she replied, “It went both ways,” she said in the interview. “The child, D., wasn’t connecting with us.”
That seems pretty cold and messed-up to be able to just return an adopted child, especially one that had been mistreated earlier in life. See what Anita Teldaldi had to say in the video below:
