Amy Winehouse’s Back To Black is now the UK’s biggest selling album of the 21st century according to the Official Charts Company. The 2006 LP surpassed James Blunt’s Back To Bedlam (thanks, in part, to a surge in sales following her untimely death). The news seems bittersweet considering that earlier this week the British songbird’s toxicology report returned inconclusive, and “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” co-writer Nick Ashford (sampled in the late pop star’s “Tears Dry On Their Own”) passed away Monday.

Will the “Valerie” songstress remain at number on in 2099? It’s too soon to tell. If the record sales and  continued out pour of artist tributes prove anything, it’s that Amy might be gone, but she’s long from forgotten.
