Like strands of finely spun gold, Beyonce‘s glorious locks sprang back and forth with heavenly fury as she flipped, whipped and dipped her hair in some of the most elaborate hair choreography ever attempted. That breathtaking sight greeted concertgoers night after night at the Mrs. Carter show but, sadly, the world’s unofficial eighth wonder is no more.
That’s a grim reality fans have struggled to come to terms with since Bey debuted her new pixie cut on Instagram earlier this week. The passing of Third Ward Trill‘s regal weave almost melted the internet. With a couple of days to process the cut that was heard around the globe, I reached out to the Hive to discover how stans are coping with life in a wigless world.
While Bey stans are united in defending what’s left of their idol’s hair, her new look is not universally admired. “Oh my god this bald-headed ass bitch done lost her mind!” was @BeyoncesHubby‘s initial reaction. The diva’s crew cut eventually grew on him but the frazzled fan is still struggling with it. “Her golden tresses are legendary and I’m just not use to seeing her without the iconic weave.”
To be honest, @LuciousKi has her reservations about B’s new style too. “I’m not used to seeing the queen with short hair,” she admits. “I’m used to that bitch giving hair flips for Jesus!” Happily for the pop legend, other fans view weave-gate differently. @CourtLuvsBey loved the new style immediately: “I fell in love with how much it showed off her face! Beyonce is such a fine ass female — everybody knows that — but I don’t think people actually look at how gorgeous her face is!”
@BlueBaddieBey found it empowering. “It made me really, really happy. We all know Beyonce dislikes her ears, so I think it showcases her confidence,” she says. “It takes a lot of guts for an African American woman to rock her own hair — it’s takes even more to rock it when it’s short!”
Meanwhile one stan was so overcome by the power of Beysus when she first saw her new look that it all remains a blur. “I honestly didn’t know what to do with my life!” @VoiceTooSmooth exclaims. “I was like ‘is God real?’ I needed answers before I grabbed my clippers and cut my own curls too.”
While the Hive is divided on Bey’s new look, they all agree she will need to bring out the super-glue for upcoming shows. “She’ll more than likely sew her weave back in for the tour,” bets @BeyoncesHubby. “The wind machines would have nothing to blow except her heavily moisturized scalp.”
“It wouldn’t be a show without those iconic hair flips,” opines @VoiceTooSmooth. “But whatever she does I’ll be alright with it.” @BlueBaddieBey agrees: “She’s definitely going to have a wig for the rest of the tour.”
However, @LuciousKi has a different solution. “In my personal opinion, she will call Jesus up and make a hair appointment.”
But before you jump on Twitter, take heed. Any negative commentary will not be tolerated. “From Instagram to Twitter and Facebook, I’ve read a bitch for filth,” warns @CourtLuvsBey. “I am sick and tired of all these wasps coming for the queen!” screams @VoiceTooSmooth. “I’ve dragged up and down B’s Instagram comments, I deserve a gold metal!”
“Listen, these bald-headed hoes tried the queen and her new cut and I put them welfare hoes in their place,” brags @LuciousKi. “My fingers are still sore from all the dragging I did to the hating-ass bitches.” Meanwhile @BeyoncesHubby thinks haters should look at themselves: “Bitches need to be more concerned about why their edges look like their ‘lil brother’s science project than Beyonce’s tussled mane.”
