Alaina Reed-Amini, the actress that played Olivia on “Sesame Street” has died at age 63. Read more on Alaina Reed-Amini’s death below.
Alaina passed away on Dec. 17 at St. John’s Health Center in Santa Monica after a two-year battle with breast cancer.
She was previously known as Alaina Reed Hall, but remarried in 2008.
Alaina was in several films including “Cruel Intentions” and “Death Becomes Her.” She also guest-starred on television shows such as s “ER,” “NYPD Blue,” Ally McBeal”, and “The Drew Carey Show”.
Reed-Amini became part of the “Sesame Street” cast in 1976 and played Olivia, a photographer and remained until 1988.
She went on to star in NBC’s “227″ from 1985 to 1990, playing the best friend and landlady of the show’s main character. On the final season of the show, Reed-Amini married a character that was played by her real husband at the time, Kevin Peter Hall. Hall passed away in 1991.
Alaina is survived by her husband, Tamim Amini, and two children from a previous marriage.
There is currently no funeral or memorial service planned, but a celebration of her life is being planned for next year.
