When he’s done drinking blood and sweeping women off their feet, British actor Robert Pattinson wants to go back to his musical roots.
Go back? Yes, before all the Hollywood craziness kicked in, the 23-year-old was actually into music. He sings, and plays the guitar and piano.
“I want to do [an album] at the end of the year,” he said. “All my friends are recording albums and I’m very annoyed about it. I don’t know how people can act and also sing. I’ll find some time to do it.”
Die-hard Twilight fans will point out that Robert co-wrote and sang “Never Think” for the original Twilight soundtrack in 2008.
Can he carry a tune? Yes, actually! His surprisingly soulful voice has elements of John Mayer and old-school country in it. It’s too bad you can’t really understand the lyrics to his songs. The hottie tends to eat his words.
Do you think his career as a musician will pick up?
During the closing minutes of AC Milan’s 1-0 win over Chievo Verona on Sunday, David Beckham tore his Achilles tendon while he was on the field. In tears, he hopped over to the sideline for medical attention.
“The doctor said the tendon’s a little bit torn but we don’t know if it’s completely broken or just partially,” specialist surgeon Dr. Sakari Orava said. “Very much depends on how much has been torn and exactly where… It will have a big impact on the final result and when the person is ready to train hard.”
On Monday morning, he caught a plane to Finland for surgery. And yes, he will miss the World Cup. Double ouch!
By the looks of it, the sunglasses don’t really stand out from the usual trends. There’s only so much you can do with eyewear. You’re pretty much purchasing it for the label and boasting rights. “I’m wearing Madonna’s sunglasses!”
Back to Madge. The 51-year-old sure is busy with her fashion collaborations. She and her daughter Lourdes have recently signed a deal with Iconix Brand Group Inc. to create a fashion line for teens aptly called “Material Girl.”
So you watched Jimmy Kimmel Live last week after the Oscars and loved the “Handsome Men’s Club” segment. Who didn’t? Not only did it have a stellar (I didn’t want to overuse the adjective “handsome”) cast, it was also the funniest thing since Conan’s Twitter frenzy.
If you missed it, watch it here to see why it left viewers in stitches:
The producers received so much good feedback that they re-aired it last weekend. The “most handsome” man, Jimmy Kimmel himself revealed the bloopers of the shoot.
So… who’s your favorite handsome? I raise my right hand for Josh Hartnett. (insert giggly girly squeal here)
2. It is the first Shrek movie that’s available in 3D.
3. In the story, ogre-turned-family-man Shrek is duped by Rumpelstiltskin into a deal that lands him in a distorted version of Far Far Away kingdom. Shrek tries to save his friends and reclaim the love of his wife, Fiona.
4. This is the fourth and final installment of the successful Dreamworks Animation film series.
5. It features new voices such as actress Megan Fox as The Princess in the Tower, animator Walt Dohrn as Rumpelstiltskin, comedienne Kathy Griffin as Taran, and actress Kristen Schaal as Alice.
Check out the trailer below:
Do you think this will top the other three Shrek movies?
He plays a 1,000-year-old vampire on True Blood, so it’s nice to see 33-year-old Alexander Skarsgård looking less pasty than usual. The 6’4” Swedish hottie is on the cover of LA Times Magazine’s March issue, and he looks even more dashing than his onscreen character Eric.
Photographed by Chat Pitman and styled by Jessica de Ruiter, Alexander’s GQ-ish fashion shoot is all about suits, sleek hair, and guyliner. Don’t worry; it’s subtle and not the Adam Lambert kind.
In his interview with Leslie Gornstein, Alexander talks about working on projects simultaneously in the US and Sweden, being born with the acting bug, and of course, vampires.
“What makes vampires a platform for good drama is they’re also lethal,” he said about his True Blood character. “Eric is an animal. He’s on that edge where you don’t know if he will turn and kill you in a second.”
The humble actor also revealed what makes him different from other celebrities hounded down by paparazzi. “I’m not a ‘Hollywood’ actor. I am a social guy, but I’m not one of those actors who will show up to a shoot with 15 agents and managers and publicists. An entourage like that just makes me uncomfortable.”
Click on the LA Times website or grab a copy of the magazine to see the rest of the interview.
The 31-year-old actress goes for a big change in her look. She emerged early this week with darker locks as she returned to the Grey’s Anatomy set.
She tried staying incognito as she had lunch with her mom Nancy last week at Figaro in Los Feliz. I wonder if she was hiding her newly colored locks under that fedora.
On Monday, the brunette went out and about in LA with her mom and sister. Oh, check out her hot suede boots, too!
She topped my list as one of Hollywood’s best blonde bombshells, but she looks hot as a brunette, too! What do you think of Katherine’s darker locks?
Ever since Conan O’Brien started his own Twitter account, the world of tweeting has never been the same. Conan has gained almost 600,000 followers since he started on February 24. And he didn’t even have to over-tweet his life’s daily routines.
His deliciously sarcastic humor and unpredictable tweets feed Coco fans as they wait for the comedian’s next TV project. He’s tweeted only about a dozen posts, and yet his followers are hanging on to every word.
His latest antic is this:
“I’ve decided to follow someone at random. She likes peanut butter and gummy dinosaurs. Sarah Killen, your life is about to change.”
True enough, Sarah Killen’s life has changed. She’s drummed up a lot of attention, being the first and only person that Conan “follows.” The 19-year-old now has over 18,000 followers and a wider network of connections.
She’s getting married on September and a lot of Conan’s “friends” are covering the expenses.
Now that Avatar has bagged a few Oscars, we can finally move on and focus on the original blue-skinned creatures—The Smurfs.
Sony has bagged the rights to produce Smurfs: The Movie, which will be a blend of animation and live action, according to Moviefone. A roster of Hollywood stars will lend their voices to the little blue creatures.
NPH: “Gargamel’s Coming!”
The fantastic Neil Patrick Harris is giving life to the “lead Smurf,” although insiders have yet to reveal which Smurf exactly. I’m betting on Brainy Smurf or Vanity Smurf. Other celebrity voices are: Katy Perry as Smurfette, Alan Cumming as Gusty Smurf, George Lopez as Grouchy Smurf, and Jonathan Winters as Papa Smurf.
Directed by Raja Gosnell (Beverly Hills Chihuahua),Smurfs will begin filming next month and will be out in July 2011.
Sing with me now: La-la, la-la la-la, la la-la la-la…
“I read that you are not a fan of the Kardashian look,” Joy Behar asked fashion guru Tim Gunn on CNN’s The Joy Behar Show.
“Oh, Joy. Who is?” Tim responded. “I find that it’s—while it may have some sexiness to it—I find it’s largely vulgar. It has a cheapness and tawdriness.”
“Now I’m going to worry about the Kardashian sisters attacking me!” he added. Better yet, watch out for an angry mob of Kardashian fans dashing (pun intended) towards Tim with pitchforks!
Tim later narrowed his focus on one particular Kardashian—Kim. “She’s pretty, but she’s a poser. I find that when she’s moving, it all goes away for me.”
According to Yahoo! TV blogger Mike Ryan, Tim Gunn began his battle with everything Kardashian back in February during New York Fashion Week when he commented: “I just think the Kardashians have an absence of taste and I don’t think that should be perpetuated. I’m sorry I’m sounding like an old farty snob, but it bothers me.”
